Summary
A silver casket on ebony stand for containing an address from the Municipality of Bangalore. The casket has a Hindu temple design in repoussé around three sides of the casket. At the front, there is a depiction of a building. The casket is guarded by four mythical animals at each side. The lid has a chiselled border and the handle is in the shape of a seated, multi-armed deity. The wooden base has an inscription and appliqué coats-of-arms on either side. Curzon Collection acquired by gift as part of the transfer of Kedleston Hall to The National Trust in 1986.
