Summary
A Tibetan amulet box (ga'u) made from silver with inlay of turquoise. A protective deity made from pressed clay (tsa-tsa) or sutras would have been placed inside the box and would have been carried as a talisman. Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
