Summary
A silver cloak pin from Keonthal, Himachal Pradesh. It is made up of three connecting discs with a repoussé floral border; two of the circles have a raised central pieces with a boss of inlaid turquoise at the top, the third is hollow and has three bits of turquoise around the rim. The hollow disc has an attached chain with the pin, while one of the other discs has a looped chain. 'A silver cloak clasp set with turquoises - Himalayan Hill States (Keonthal)' (Christie's entry)
Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
