Summary
A pair of two rosewood and wicker folding chairs. The seat and back rest are made from an open plaited cane design that is surrounded by carved rosewood. The back has foliage and architectural motifs and at the top there is a depiction of a three-headed deity with a goat. The arm rests are designed as lion heads and the six legs have feline head feet. Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
