Summary
A folding screen made from shisham wood, which is known locally as tahli, Simla, late 19th century. The screen was probably a commission and may have been made for the Durbar celebrations as the central carving is of the Royal coat-of-arms and on the smaller panels there are carvings of the garter star. 'A screen of carved sheeshum wood - Simla, Punjab' (Christie's entry).
