Summary
An Indian alabaster model of the Taj Mahal. It consists of the raised terrace, central mausoleum and four minarets. The model is extremely detailed, it has fine floral painting to replicate the tile decoration and a perforation of the alabaster has been used to imitate the marble lattice windows. Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
