Summary
A sandalwood shrine (mantupam) exterior. It is made up of four columns with two mythical creatures at the top of each column. In-between each column, there is a decorative archway. The roof of the shrine has turrets and an inner sanctum. The dome of the roof is separate. 'A carved sandalwood shrine (mantupam) with ten brass figures of deities - Mysore' (Christie's Entry)
Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
