Summary
An address case of pink silk with gold embroidery, braid and fringing. It is covered by an intricate swirling vine and floral motif. The reverse has a similar border but has a plain centre. It was made to contain an address from the Municipality of Muttra. 'A silk case embroidered with gold thread and spangles, containing an address from the Municipality of Muttra - Indian, North-West Provinces' (Christie's entry).).
Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
