Summary
The barrel of an Indian flintlock gun, probably from the Sind region. The Barrel is retained to stock by fifteen decorated brass barrel bands. Steel ramrod that is kept in place by a long sheet of brass. At both ends of the barrel, there is a small geometric design using silver inlay.
Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
