Summary

Lid to quiver case, it is hollow and has leather cord weaved around the lid for decoration. Used by the Mishmi tribe, who reside along the border of Eastern Bengal and Assam. 'An Assamese Frontier leather quiver containing ten arrows - Mishmi Tribes' (Christie's entry)

Provenance

Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
