Summary
Hat worn by the Naga Tribe. It is conical shaped made from bias weave cane that has been dyed and woven to produce stripes of beige and red with black. There is a moveable cane band that has red wool and horse hair attached to it. At the top of the hat there is a tuft of grass. Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
