Summary
Chair - A late Victorian beechwood travelling armchair by J. Alderman, with a split cane back and seat, on turned legs. It is fitted with four hinged carrying handles with white metal stems and wooden ends, one on either side of the seat base and reverse back, while the back panel is fitted with two hinge attachments to the arm supports, under which are two clips allowing for the back to be locked into place. It is accompanied by a square buttoned leather cushion (NT10621).

Purchased from the estate of the late Lord Wraxall with the assistance of the NHMF and donations from members and supporters.
