Summary
A set of three late Victorian Plucknett and Steevens oak and ebonised side chairs, circa 1880-1885, with a leaf-carved cresting rail above a green leather padded back between ebonised columnar uprights. The green leather padded seat is set on turned ebonised columnar front legs joined by a conforming H-shaped stretcher, and on ceramic castors. The underside retains the original embossed metal trade label reading; PLUCKNETT (and) STEEVENS / CABINET MAKERS / AND / UPHOLSTERERS / WARWICK (and) LEAMINGTON. The undersides are also branded; GAG.

Purchased from the estate of the late Lord Wraxall with the assistance of the NHMF and donations from members and supporters.
