Summary
An oak, double kneehole partners' writing desk, circa 1875-1880, attributed to Collier and Plucknett, the rectangular moulded top above a cavetto moulded frieze carved with a border of flowers and foliage, the arrangement of sixteen opposing drawers surrounding an arched kneehole, with leaf-carved spandrels and flanked by partially ebonised columnar hinged secret locking pilasters with vine leaf and foliate capitals headed by corbel mouldings with inlaid ebony decoration, the panelled sides headed by carved rosettes, the drawers outlined with polka dot inlaid ebonised borders and with brass rope-twist cast handles.

Purchased from the estate of the late Lord Wraxall with the assistance of the NHMF and donations from members and supporters.
