Summary
Obelisk. A stone obelisk and memorial to Peter Chance. A stone needle and plinth with a slate plaque inserted into one of the faces oif the plinth, inscribed with "IN MEMORY OF PETER CHANCE 1910-1984 WHO RESTORED COLBY LODGE AND GARDENS AND GAVE THEM TO THE NATIONAL TRUST IN 1980". On each side of the plinth is carved an interlocking P motif. The obelisk was erected on this site to enable the viewer to see the memorial of Pamela Chance on the other side of the garden.
Provenance
Erected in memory of Peter Chance who gave Colby Lodge and Gardens to the National Trust in 1980.
