Summary
Specimens displayed embedded within the Geological Gallery. Bateman had originally intened the layout of the gallery to reflect the seven days of creation. Towards the bottom of the wall, various coloured rock samples have been embedded into the wall to represent a cross-section through strata dipping at approximately 45 degrees. Above this, numerous rock and fossil samples have been embedded into the wall, demonstrating the typical fossils that might be found from those rocks. Many specimens are missing.
