Summary
A set of late Victorian walnut postal scales with a metal mainframe set on a rectangular wooden base, out of which three circular incisions have been made, lined with brown velvet, for the placement of the ten accompanying brass weights. Two brass plaques are attached to the base indicating postal costs in accordance to weight.
Provenance
Purchased from the estate of the late Lord Wraxall with the assistance of the NHMF and donations from members and supporters.
