Summary
A leather folding screen, possibly supplied by J. G. Crace (1809-89), of four arched leaves, decorated in 18th century style, painted in colours with exotic birds perched on flower-sprays on a gold schlag ground.
Full description
This screen and another (NT 10130) at Tyntesfield may have been supplied by J. G. Crace in the 1840s or 1850s. A similar screen at Chirk Castle, another property on which Crace collaborated, was described as being covered with leather 'possibly supplied by J. G. Crace' when it was sold by Christie's on 21 June 2004 (Lot 223).
