Summary
Oil painting on panel, The Virgin and Child, style of a 16th century Flemish school, 17th century. The Madonna seated to the left, seen between parted curtains; the Child on her lap, playing with a book. The picture, which is labelled 'French, early 17th century' appears to be a poor copy or pastiche of a 16th century Flemish Mannerist painter.
