Oil painting on board, Reverend Arthur Matthews (1788 - 1840) in his Library, British (English) School, 1812. [previously: John Downman, RA (Ruabon, North Wales, 1750 – Wrexham 1824).] Fellow of Brasenose college, Oxford and Rector of Linton. Canon of Hereford 1788-1840. 4th son of Colonel John Matthews of Belmont.
