Summary
Oil painting on canvas, A Woman at her Toilet by William Hoare of Bath, RA (Eye 1706 – Bath 1792). A dark-haired woman stands, half-length and partly draped, at her toilet. Her head is turned to the right and she gazes at herself in an oval mirror that is propped on a dressing table to her left. Her arms are crossed in front of her and the white drapery falls across her left arm and over her left shoulder. The mirror is draped in white cloth and a brass jar and pearl necklace lie on the table. There is red drapery behind and above her and blue drapery to her right.
