Summary
Oil painting on canvas, RYS 'Zoe', British (English) School, 19th century. The RYS (Royal Yacht Squadron) Zoe was the smaller schooner belonging to Sir Bruce Chichester, 2nd Bt (1842–1881) that preceded the Erminia which he bought in 1869. The schooner is seen in profile in full sail on a calm blue ocean. Another boat is visible in the distance to the left. The white sails of the Chichester Zoe are set against a grey cloudy sky through which touches of bright blue sky are showing through above.
