Summary
Knitted waistcoat, crimson silk, gilt metal thread wound on yellow silk core, knitted in plain and pearl stitch; design, main ground of simple plant motif, borders at shoulder, front opening and wrist of hexagon and chain motives, below waist, bands of chain zig-zag and diagonal oblongs, edge at bottom indented; trimming, 39 basket weave buttons 12 mm diam and buttonholes, brown/red silk (?) edging; lining, off-white plain weave silk balanced tabby.
