Caption
Elizabeth of York was the daughter of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville, and Queen of Henry VII. She is shown holding the white Yorkist rose, in token of the reconciliation with the red rose of Lancaster that her marriage to Henry VII in 1486 brought about. This is one of a number of versions of this picture, of which a contemporary example is in the Royal Collection.

Half-length portrait of a woman, turned slightly to left, gazing to the left, holding a white rose in her hands and wearing a gabled French hood trimmed with pearls, a dress with a square cut neckline, trimmed with pearls and with ermine cuffs.
