Summary
Oil painting on panel, An Unknown Lady, British (English) School, 1580-1610. A half-length portrait of a woman, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing white embroidered dress and slashed sleeves, worn under a black and crimson sleeveless coat. Large white ruff. Reddish hair, dressed on top. Wearing a double-linked gold chain over her coat which she is fingering, and also another gold chain over her dress.

Bequeathed to the National Trust with the house, estate and all the contents of Dunham Massey by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896 - 1976)
