Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sir John Cordell, 3rd Bt (1677-1704), follower of John Closterman (Osnabrück 1660 – London 1711). A three-quarter length portrait standing, wearing a purple coat with silver buttons and blue cloak. Gloves in left hand. Previously thought to be Sir Cordell Firebrace.
Provenance
Part of the Hyde Parker collection. Loaned to the National Trust in 1997, and purchased from Sir Richard Hyde Parker and Lord and Lady Camoys in October 1997.
