Summary description
Oil painting on canvas, Adrian Drewe (1891 - 1917), monogrammed and dated: M.J.G. 1912. A three-quarter-length portrait of Adrian Drewe, the eldest son of Mr.Julius Drewe who was killed in Flanders. He is turned to the right, wearing a a dark suit and an O[ld].E[tonian]. tie seated in a 17th century red velvet upholstered chair, holding a red book.
Provenance
This item forms part of the original Drewe family collection at Castle Drogo. It was transferred to the National Trust in 1986.
