Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Mary Lloyd, Lady Mainwaring, studio of Michael Dahl (Stockholm 1656 – London 1743), circa 1724-26. A half-length portrait of daughter and co-heir of William Lloyd of Halgton, Co. Flint, and wife of Sir Thomas Mainwaring, 3rd Bt. (1681-1726) of Over Peover, Cheshire. She is seen almost facing, wearing a blue satin surcoat with white lining.
Provenance
probably by gift to her neighbours, Frances or Mary Hunt, and thence by descent, through their brother, Thomas II Hunt, husband of Mary Vere Robartes, until given by Gerald, 7th Viscount Clifden (1883 -1966), with the transfer of the house to the National Trust in 1953
