Oil painting on canvas, Thomas Charles Agar-Robartes, 6th Viscount Clifden (1844-1930) by Walter William Ouless RA (St Helier 1848 – London 1933), signed bottom right: W.W. Ouless / 1887. A three-quarter length portrait of Thomas Charles Reginald Agar-Robartes, who became 2nd Lord Robartes in 1882 and 6th Viscount Clifden in 1899. He is standing slightly to the left, a desk to his right and his left arm resting on a chair with a book in his hand on the right. He wears a long black coat and red tie.
Provenance
Given by the sitter's second son, Gerald, 7th Viscount Clifden (1883 - 1966), with the transfer of the house to the National Trust in 1953
