Provenance
Probably given by the sitter's mother, Frances Antonia Pole-Carew, to her sister, Juliana, mother of Thomas Charles Agar-Robartes, 6th Viscount Clifden (1844-1930); given by his son, The Hon. Francis Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden (1883 - 1966), with the transfer of the house to the National Trust in 1953.
