A circular painting with the name of the sitter inscribed in circumference, above: SOAME JENYNS ESQ. He holds his left hand against his cheek and wears a cravat and a shirt with frilled cuff.
Provenance
Given to Lord Hardwicke of Wimpole Hall by Soame Jenyns and bought with contents of that house by Thomas, 6th Viscount Clifden (1844 - 1930) and thence brought to Lanhydrock by Gerald, 7th Viscount Clifden (1883-1966), when he sold Wimpole Hall in 1930; given by Victor, 8th Viscount Clifden (1887 - 1974), in 1969.
