Oil painting on canvas, Still Life with Dead Game by Alexandre-François Desportes (Champigneulles 1661 – Paris 1743), signed and dated, upper right: Desportes.....1714(?). A basket of plums, left, and a dead hare, quail and partridges on a marble table, on which a cloak is lying.
Provenance
Accepted by the Treasury in part payment of death-duties from the executors of Edmund Robert Parker, 4th Earl of Morley (1877-1951) and transferred to the Trust in 1957.
