Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Colonel Thomas Blagge (d.1660), British (English) School. mid 17th century. Inscribed with name of sitter, top left: COLONEL BLAGUE. Father in law to / SIDNEY 1st EARL of GODOLPHIN. A head-and-shoulders portrait of a man, turned to the right, gazing at the spectator. He has light brown curly hair and is wearing armour and a white neckerchief. Dark background.

By descent to Rear Admiral Frederick William Fane Hervey, 4th Marquess of Bristol (1863-1951), on whose death valued for probate; accepted in lieu of tax by HM Treasury, and transferred to the National Trust in 1956
