This bird's eye view painting of the peninsula is full of amusing visual puns; a parson is stuck in the mud at Parsons Mud and a boy is being spanked on Slappers Hill.

Oil painting on panel, A Bird's-eye Map View of the Kingswear Peninsula with a Wind Dial by George Spencer Hoffman (1875 - 1950), bottom right: SPENCER HOFFMAN – 1927. An overmantel of an aerial map view of the surrounding area and promontory of Coleton Fishacre. A semi-circular depression at top accommodates a circular two tone blue wind dial with gold and black letters with points of compass.
