Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Wrestlers manner of Francis Hayman, RA (Exeter 1708 – London 1776), mid 18th century. Two bare-chested men, locked in a closed hugging wrestling position, face away from the viewer. Both wear metal-capped shoes. The figure on the left has a shaved head and the figure on the right appears to have brown hair flowing loosely about his neck.

acquired by Thomas Woolner; thence by inheritance until accepted by HM Treasury in lieu of Inheritance Tax and allocated to the National Trust, Bradley Manor, 2002
