Summary description

Oil painting on panel, Dorothy Bonham, Dame Dorothy Selby (1572-1641), manner of Marcus Geeraerts, the younger (Bruges 1561/2 - London 1635/6). A full-length portrait of a young lady, in Elizabethan costume, with slashed sleeves adorned with cruciform ribbons, turned slightly to the left, emerging from between two red drapes, one of which she pushes aside with her left hand. He right hand holds a black feather fan. Two fragments of labels on frame. Old label on bottom right hand corner.
