Oil painting on canvas, Le défilé du duc de Vendôme by Philips Wouverman (Haarlem 1619 - Haarlem 1668), monogrammed right of centre on a rock under prancing white horse: PW. An expansive landscape under stormy skies is the setting for the scene of Le Defile du Duc de Vendome. A column of cavalry, with a river to the left, and a fortified building on the right.
