Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Girl in a White Dress, attributed to John Russell (Guildford 1745 – Hull 1806). Three-quarter-length portrait of a young girl, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, seated on a stone bench in a landscape, wearing a white dress, tied at the waist with a pink ribbon, searing a straw hat, tied with white gauze beneath her chin. Long brown curly hair. A brown and white pitcher on the stone ledge on the right, foliage in the background.

Purchased by the National Trust with Sheringham, with grants from the National Heritage Memorial Fund, the Countryside Commission, the National Conservancy Council, and several bequests, in 1987
