Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Thomas Hussey I (1680-1735), British (English) School, circa 1730-1735. A painted oval half-length portrait of a middle-aged man, turned slightly to the right, head inclined to the left, gazing at the spectator, in a brown cloak with blue revers trimmed with gold. One of a set of six pictures by the same artist, of Thomas Hussey I, his wife H. Frances Lake, and their four children- Thomas Hussey II, John Hussey, Edward Hussey and Frances Hussey. The parents are shown in painted ovals, head-and-shoulders, and the children as three-quarter-lengths.
