Summary
Gouache on paper, Study of a Burn by Joan Kathleen Harding Eardley (Warnham 1921 – Killearn 1963), signed bottom left 'Joan Eardley'. A gouache study of a burn, the Scottish term for a large stream or small river, probably at Caverslee in the Ettrick Valley near Selkirk on the Scottish Borders. Caverslee was the home of Eardley's close friend, Audrey Walker. Exhibited 1958, joint exhibition with William Gilles, The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh, July 1958.

Presented to the National Trust for display at Mottisfont Abbey by Derek Hill through the National Art Collections Fund (Art Fund), 1996.
