Oil painting on canvas, Master Henry Hoare (1784 - 1836) as a Boy Gardening, after Sir Joshua Reynolds PRA (Plympton 1723 - London 1792), 1883. The original 1788 painting, sold in the Stourhead House Heirlooms Sale, 1883 and bought by Asher Wertheimer, is now in the Toledo Museum of Art, Ohio.

This copy commissioned by Asher Wertheimer (1844 - 1918) when he bought the original in 1883; given to the National Trust along with the house, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946
