Summary
A rosewood grained beech and parcel gilt open armchair, English, circa 1810. The back with a moulded frame and padded upholstered panel. The scrolled arms with padded elbow rests and down swept scrolled supports above a padded seat and raised on turned reeded front legs and sabre back legs, brass castors. Bearing a written paper label to the seat rail 'Mrs Hoare, July 1847'
Provenance
Label on underside 'Mrs Hoare July 1847'. Given to the National Trust along with Stourhead House, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
