Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Selina Thackeray, Mrs Samuel Drewe (1773-1806) by William Waterhouse (fl.1863), signed and dated W. Waterhouse 1863. A three-quarter length portrait of Mrs Drewe as a young girl, standing, almost facing, wearing a white muslin dress, a bandeau round her head, a rose held in her right hand.
Provenance
According to Lyte, 1909, Dunster Castle was 'enriched in recent years by the transfer of several portraits of Drewes from Wooton Fitzpaine'. Previously on loan, 1975; gift of Lt-Col Geoffrey Walter Fownes Luttrell (1919 – 2007) to the National Trust in 1981.
