Summary
Oil painting on panel, Head of an Unknown Gentleman, manner of Marcus Gheeraerts the younger (Bruges 1561 – London 1635), circa 1605-10. A fragment; the head of a bearded man with white lace collar. The word VENIO [I come] at the extreme right is evidently part of a longer inscription.

Previously on loan, 1975; gift of Lt -Col Geoffrey Walter Fownes Luttrell (1919 – 2007) to the National Trust in 1981.
