Historic Services / Water & sewage
Vyne Estate, Hampshire (Accredited Museum)
A historic water system. Only the external fixings for a tank level indicator on the gable of this building is left to suggest this is a water tower, although known to have been from the record drawings. The earliest drainage drawings are from Thomas Chute and dated 1776. Other water services diagrams are dated 1829, 1847, 1903 and 1920, and there is an undated fragment that appears to date to prior to 1903. These are all held at the Hampshire Records Office.
