Summary
Oil painting on canvas, A Classical Landscape by Johann Heinrich Müntz (Mulhouse 1727 – Kassel 1798). A winding stream with two half-naked herdsmen on the bank fishing in the foreground and cattle watering beyond; hills at the left. A pastiche landscape after Gaspard Poussin. This and the companion picture (NT: 719392 ) are almost certainly by Muntz, done in imitation of 17th-century landscapes.
