Oil painting on canvas, Lt-Colonel Alfred Worsley Pennyman (1883-1914) by Frank Watson Wood (Berwick-upon-Tweed 1862 - Strathyre 1953), signed and dated 1926. Inscribed 'Lt. Col. A.W. Pennyman K.O.S.B 1883-1914'. A three-quarter-length portrait of Colonel Pennyman's much loved uncle ‘Alfie’ and best man at his first wedding, seated half left in a red hunting jacket with a cream cravat and cream trousers. His hands are folded on his lap, and one leg is crossed over the other. Note: dates on picture refer to period K.O.S.B. regiment (actually 1883-1904; recalled 1914).
