One of a pair of oil lamps. The oil reservoir from which the two branches issue mounted with a female mask and raised on a fluted column (a) over a classical drum with rams' masks and undulating fluting on a base supported on four paw feet/winged sphinxes. Both oil lamps converted for electricity, but retaining wick tweezers and reservoir covers on chains.
Pennyman collection devised in October 1961 to The National Trust under the terms of Col. J.B.W. Pennyman's will.
