Summary
A ceramic figure of the Brambly Hedge character Wilfred Toadflax by Royal Doulton. The figure is dressed in a pair of dungarees and a red and white stripped top and is standing on a circular green base. There is a faint number 14 painted on the underside of the base (possibly a potters or painters mark). There is also a Royal Doulton lion and crown logo on the underside of the base. The figure is part of a set made by Royal Doulton as merchandise for the popular Brambly Hedge book series.
Provenance
Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via ebay on 20th January 2017 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
