Summary
Original boxes for magic lantern slides consisting of two box lids and one base. The square base is made from cardboard, cream on the outside and with two side missing. It is very dirty, and has worn edges and a tear at one corner. One square box lid is made from cardboard, white on the inside and green on the outside. Printed in blue on the top is an illustration of a lantern slide, showing Red Riding Hood with the wolf. Blue text above reads 'Coloured Lantern Slides 3 1/4 x 2 1/4/ Primus Junior Lecturer's Series'. Below the picture is the text 'Red Riding Hood'. The price of two shillings per set is printed on either side of the picture. A list of other slides in the box appears on one side. The second square box lid is made from cardboard, with a white inside and a faded purple outside. It has a white printed label on the top reading 'Not to be opened in daylight, Edwards's Trade XL Mark Kristal Plates for Lantern Slides and Transparencies by Contact Printing'. There are also manufacturer details and details about developing the slides. It is very badly damaged. Total number of items is 3.
